Somerville Apartments

Project Summary

Alongside the Dunbar Hotel, are the two existing Somerville Apartments built in 1994. Today they are newly renovated family housing. All three properties are connected to create the Dunbar Village, an 83-unit mixed-use, intergenerational community for Seniors and Families.

Somerville Apartments is a recently renovated 3 story, 42 unit affordable housing apartment building built above ground level community space and retail in front; there is parking on grade. This is a Prevailing Wage project.

Improvements include the removal of existing concrete decking on top of the podium which is given a new top concrete coating, re-waterproofed and then re-sloped. Also included are installation of new roof, kitchens and bathrooms, unit front doors, frame, and hardware. Substantial energy efficient upgrades include LED light, HVAC, new Energy Star appliances, elevator, and all new water saving plumbing. Residents also enjoy amenities like new community room, laundry room, extensive exterior changes BBQ, outdoor fireplace.
